An Aiken man detained on six counts of second-degree burglary is accused of breaking into multiple businesses on York Street and University Parkway this weekend, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Quinton Taylor, 22, was placed in the Aiken County detention center, where he remained on Monday afternoon.

Aiken Public Safety responded to a burglar alarm at Little China restaurant on York Street about 5 a.m. Saturday, Detective Jeremy Hembree said in a statement. Officers arriving on the scene found the front window to the business had been busted, and that windows in the fronts of Nail Art Salon and Approved Cash Payday Loans were also busted.

Officers patrolling the area found a busted window at a convenience store on University Parkway, Hembree said. When officers found the window, they saw a man behind the counter. Taylor was arrested without incident.

Officers also found a broken window on The Lemonade Stand on University Parkway, Hembree said. While patrolling the area, they also found a broken window at Automotive Service and Machine Shop on York Street. The backdoor to a nearby business, Stevens' Monuments, had also been forced open. Hembree said there was a quantity of money and surveillance equipment taken from each of the burglaries before Taylor's arrest. After he was arrested, officers were able to recover the items.
