Bruson’s Pest Control is a local business that offers many services to assist in preventing and getting rid of unwanted bugs and animals. David Brunson started working in the business in 1986, and opened his current location on Belvedere-Clearwater Road in 2001.

Brunson said he opened a company soon after he discovered that it could be very profitable.

“After I saw what I sold in a year’s time, I said, ‘Hey, I can do this for myself,’” Brunson said.

And it just evolved from there. Pest control has been something he said he enjoyed doing for years, and he decided it would be a good fit for him.

“It has always been in my blood,” Brunson said. “It’s a service to the community.”

He said he enjoys his job because he is constantly helping others. He answers questions on a day-to-day basis from people he sees in the grocery store, post office or anywhere else he may be around town. He does not mind offering his services because he said he knows that without that information, families may have to live with these bugs and pests.

“It’s a great way to make a living, except for the fact that you have to crawl under houses all the time. That isn’t always a pleasant thing to do,” Brunson said.

He said that is one of the aspects that is difficult in his field, because it can be hard to make people understand that it is important to take care of what happens underneath their homes, as well.

“Talking to people about problems under their houses is hard because when they spend their money they want to see it, and it’s hard when it’s underneath their house,” Brunson said. “Some people will never check anything, and it just turns out to be a horrible problem. Issues such as mold, mildew and termites that people don’t realize are underneath their house can do damage to their homes, but also their health, as well.”

Brunson said he wants people to know that the things underneath their homes is what they’re breathing in their house. Brunson offers structural protection for their home and environmental protection from bugs, rats and mice.

Brunson and his family are North Augusta residents, and they love the city and the people.

“We’re hometown folks just like everyone else, and we’ve raised our kids here,” Brunson said. “We love North Augusta. It’s our home,”

Brunson’s Pest Control offers a number of services, and Brunson wants the community to know that they will always do all they can to help the people of North Augusta.

“We always try to help those with a problem,” Brunson said. “You don’t want people living in bugs, and you don’t want children being around that. You can’t afford to help make everyone be bug free for free, but you know when you have the ones that you need to look out for, and you do.”

Brunson’s Pest Control can be contacted at 803-648-7272. They are located on 405 Belvedere-Clearwater Road, North Augusta 29841.
