A Windsor man was detained for shoplifting on Friday after he stole energy drinks from a pharmacy – while wearing a red T-shirt bearing the name and logo of the restaurant where he worked, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
Christopher Sherman, 30, of Mt. Beulah Road, was charged with shoplifting and placed in the Aiken County detention center. He had been released as of Monday afternoon.
The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. on Friday, according to a report.
An employee of a pharmacy on Richland Avenue told officers the suspect walked into the store and took two energy drinks valued at about $5 and left without paying for the drinks, according to the report.
Surveillance cameras captured the suspect, who was wearing a red T-shirt bearing the name and logo for Five Guys Burger and Fries.
Officers went to the Five Guys restaurant on Whiskey Road, where managers were able to identify Sherman as the suspect, according to the report.
Sherman was working in the restaurant at the time of the identification. He was taken into custody and placed on trespass notice for the pharmacy.
