Christy Siverhus has been in the business of helping people gain more confidence with the appearance of their skin for almost 14 years now, and she still loves being able to assist people achieve beautiful skin.
Bella Skin and Makeup is located on 2 Hickory Court in North Augusta, and Siverhus offers a number of services to her clients.
She is originally from North Augusta and has lived here all of her life.
“I was previously in the dental field,” Siverhus said. “I loved working with people one-on-one and always loved cosmetics and skin care.”
Siverhus had problem skin herself in high school, so she said it helped to lead her down the path to want to help other people enhance their natural beauty.
“I want people to feel better about themselves, and that’s what I do,” Siverhus said. “I love it.”
Bella offers corrective facial services for rosacea, acne and anti-aging.
“I like to show people how to treat it when something like this happens,” Siverhus said.
She also does waxing for the face and body, and she has started a new service: eyelash extensions.
“It is really fun, and I love doing it,” Siverhus said. “It just adds an instant wow-factor.”
From the medical side, she is focusing more on using as much organic and natural products as she can.
“Anything that’s natural, I’m all for it,” Siverhus said.
She enjoys her work and the ability to meet new people continuously throughout her career.
“I love getting to work with different people everyday and getting close to clients,” Siverhus said. “I like helping them feel better about themselves and teaching them how to take better care of themselves.”
She believes that her services provide more than just beautiful skin. She said that it is a nice way to treat yourself after dealing with the everyday stresses of life.
“It’s just a very relaxing and very private atmosphere,” Siverhus said. “It’s a good place to come to get away and unwind.”
She loves her long-term clients, but said she is always looking for new people who want to enjoy the benefits of skin care.
“I’ve seen some people for years,” Siverhus said. “I’ve had very loyal clients, and that makes it nicer. I’m taking new clients. I never mind people who want to come visit me.”
She said it can be nice for people to think of facials and other treatments as a special way to indulge, but she believes that making it a constant regiment is the most effective way to use her services.
“I offer packages for women who want to make the commitment for the long haul,” Siverhus said. “I try to get people to see this as part of their lifestyle instead of a luxury. Women want to always look and feel good. This is not just a fluff treatment. I want to get more to the overall health in my practice.”
“Networking with the community just felt like the right thing to do,” Siverhus said. “I wanted to stay here.”
She said that she is not doing things all around North Augusta, but she hopes to start participating more in the community.
“I want to get more involved,” Siverhus said. “I have helped coach cheerleading teams at the Rec, but I am looking for something to get involved in.”
Running her company single-handedly and having kids, has made it hard to have time to do things as in the past, she said.
