Cold Creek Nurseries will offer a Fairy Garden Workshop on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. This workshop will share ideas on how to create a magical, miniature landscape fit for a fairy, gnome, or other tiny creature. Participants will receive a miniature garden starter kit that includes a container, soil, soil cover and pathway pebbles. The cost is $25 and is open to all ages, though adult supervision is required for participants younger than 12. Registration and payment are due by today. Augusta Christian Singles will hold its singles dance on Saturday at American Legion Post 63, 90 Milledge Road, Augusta. The Aiken High School PTSO workday originally scheduled for Aug. 17 has been rescheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Yard equipment, pain supplies, paint sprayer, pressure washer and tools to assemble outdoor furniture are needed. Tasks planned for the day include painting, planting, spreading pine straw, weeding and general sprucing up. A check-in station will be located at the front entrance. The DuPont Planetarium will show Mission to Mars at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Digistar Virtual Journey at 9 p.m. on Saturday and Aug. 31.
