According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 40-year-old Aiken woman was detained for DUI on Wednesday after she struck a gas pump at a gas station on Whiskey Road. The woman didn’t smell of alcohol but admitted to taking prescription drugs. She failed multiple field sobriety tests and was arrested.
Two women were charged with shoplifting on Wednesday after they tried to take items from a store in Aiken Mall without paying.
A 59-year-old Aiken woman was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after she tried to take items from a store on Whiskey Road by concealing them in her purse.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired about 4 a.m. Friday on Longmeadow Circle. They investigated but found no evidence of gunfire.
Vehicle break-ins were reported on Greengate Circle on Wednesday and on Barnwell Avenue on Thursday.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
Burglaries were reported on Pioneer Place in Graniteville, Wayerhaeuser Road in Aiken, Kalmia Apartments Lane in Graniteville, Charles Street in Warrenville and Jefferson Davis Highway in North Augusta.
A vehicle break-in was reported on Hampton Avenue in Aiken on Thursday. The owner reported a radio, speakers and tools missing.
