According to reports from the North Augusta Department of Public Safety:
Three Augusta women were arrested and jailed on charges of shoplifting on Nov. 25. The complainant stated there were three subjects concealing items in the store, and that they were wearing a green sweat suit, black pants and a plaid top, and green pants and a jean shirt. The officer found three subjects matching that description pushing a baby stroller near the exit of the store. The stroller contained three pairs of jeans, two T-shirts, six knit tops and one loungewear item. The items cost $724.50.
A North Augusta woman was the victim of transaction card fraud on Nov. 21. The three charges included: two charges to Western Union each for $130 and a charge to JackThreads.com for $94.95.
A third degree burglary occurred on Oct. 16. A North Augusta woman said that on that date she was arrested and left several individuals inside her home. When she returned from jail, she found most of her furniture and personal items missing. She also found that the majority of her food had been consumed. The woman identified another female as staying at her home for several days a week since early September. A neighbor stated that she saw two black males and two black females moving a mattress, multi-colored couch and other items out of the incident location. She stated that they drove a tan Chevrolet truck and a white SUV with a Burke County license plate.
