In November, the Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce held a spirit competition between local high schools. Strom Thurmond High School, Wardlaw Academy and Fox Creek High School collected change in hopes of raising the most money to support the local chamber as they strive to improve the economic status of the community by promoting quality and growth of small business, industry, and agriculture. Fox Creek High School won the spirit competition, raising $176 for the Chamber. In return, the Chamber sent the school a trophy for coming in first place, as well as half the money raised.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to support our local chamber and the businesses that they support,” said Fox Creek High School principal Josh Trahan.
