Turnout was “excellent” for the Fox Creek High School prospective student expo, according to principal Josh Trahan.

The charter school hosted more than 130 students and parents at the event on Tuesday evening.

“The meeting as a whole went very well,” Trahan said. “Most of the attendees were there to get more information about the school and had some very good questions about expansion and so forth.”

For Fox Creek, more importantly than the event getting bigger each year, is the fact that it is becoming more and more diversified.

“There were at least six different middle schools represented which was quite surprising,” Trahan said. “We are very excited to hear that our reputation is reaching out beyond our immediate area.”

Those who attended the event received a presentation that was given by members of the school’s administration.

“The jest of the whole presentation is we are a school of choice and we hope they will choose us,” Trahan said. “However, we do make it a point to let the parents know that change is much easier at Fox Creek versus most other schools as a result of them having to receive district approval. We also work hard to promote the chrome books through the Silver Fox Academy as well as the college courses we are able to offer through Piedmont Tech and Aiken Tech. Trahan said that the school encourages all interested students and families to visit foxcreekhighschool.org and look through the registration and information packets on the site.
