A Windsor woman was killed a single-vehicle accident Sunday night when the car she was traveling in overturned several times.

The crash happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. on East Frontage Road near Wire Road.

A late model Chevrolet S-10 truck driven by Michael Williams was traveling west when it crossed the eastbound lane in a curve, left the roadway, traveled approximately 100 yards on the eastbound shoulder and overturned several times, Carlton reported.

The wife of the driver and only passenger, 55-year-old Kim M. Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple body trauma.

She was wearing her seat belt.

Carlton said excessive speed and alcohol use are suspected factors in the crash.

Michael Williams was transported from the scene to Lexington Medical Center with serious, but what is believed to be, non-life threatening injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash. Toxicology is pending.
