As a retired U.S. Army Colonel with more than 37 years of service, it is my honor to support U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in his re-election bid. Graham is an active reserve U.S. Air Force Colonel and the only U.S. senator currently serving in uniform.
Not only is Graham a conservative problem solver, he is also a relentless supporter of a strong national defense.
While Graham understands the need to rein in federal spending, he believes that doing it on the backs of our men and women in uniform is unacceptable.
Like Graham, I agree that Congress must change the way they do business, but a blanket cut to our military is irresponsible and dangerous. Graham understands this more than anyone. National defense is priority No. 1 in this dangerous world.
I respect Graham for continuing to serve our country in the U.S. Air Force, and I believe it gives him an invaluable perspective and working knowledge of our military, which puts him in a unique position to advise his fellow senators on the needs of our military and their families since the majority of senators have never served in uniform.
The military community, as well as all of South Carolina, needs Graham and his honest, trustworthy leadership in Washington.
For the future of South Carolina and her next generations, join me in voting for Graham on June 10.
