CHARLESTON — The Augusta GreenJackets (48-52) led by two runs before the Charleston RiverDogs had an at-bat, but couldn’t maintain the lead in Monday afternoon’s 8-5 loss in the series finale.
Falling behind by as many as two runs, Augusta tied the score with a two spot in the seventh inning. But the bullpen couldn’t keep the game tied, as Charleston rallied for three runs in the eighth to put the game away. Reliever Daniel Slania (1-5) took the loss after surrendering three runs on three hits in the eighth.
Tyler Horan had another big day at the plate for the Jackets, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Augusta returns home to open a series against Savannah on Wednesday.
