The 40th Season for the Hopelands Summer Concert Series continues with a performance by Fabio Mann and Friends on Monday.
The performance will take place on the Roland H. Windham Performing Arts Stage at Hopelands Gardens and will begin at 7 p.m. This performance is presented by the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
Fabio and Friends, an ensemble of musicians in the Aiken-Augusta community, features Aiken natives Chris Mangelly, on piano and vocals, and Edwin Hamilton, on drums and vocals. The ensemble also features Travis Shaw on bass, Dr. Rob Foster on saxophone and flute and Fabio Mann on trumpet and flugelhorn.
Musical selections will be drawn from the collections of Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker, Herbie Hancock, Bobbie McFerrin, Gerald Marks and others, according to the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.
The Hopelands Summer Concert Series will continue throughout the summer, each Monday night until the end of August. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted and will be held at Hopelands Gardens on the Windham Performing Arts Stage.
The event is free of charge. Food is allowed, but alcohol is not. Well-behaved pets on leashes are also allowed.
Public parking is available at the Green Boundary Club on Whiskey Road across from Hopelands Gardens. Handicap parking is available at the Hopelands Gardens parking lot on 135 Dupree Place.
