Police are looking for several armed robbery suspects after an incident occurred Tuesday morning at a local hotel.
An armed robbery took place at about 8 a.m. at the Econo Lodge on Richland Avenue, according to dispatch. The victim said two men armed with hand guns approached him, demanding property and money. They then fled toward the Burger King down the road from the hotel and into the woods.
Aiken Public Safety Detective Jeremy Hembree said that a witness observed the suspects getting into a red truck and continued to leave the area.
Investigators said that another incident was reported by the same individual at the Econo Lodge over the weekend in which several thousand dollars in cash was stolen from a safe. The victim was not in the room when that crime was committed.
The investigation is ongoing.
