A woman who shoplifted $200 in weed killer reportedly left her purse and multiple cellphones behind, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lowe’s on Whiskey Road, according to an incident report. Surveillance cameras captured the unknown woman placing two bottles of Roundup weed killer, valued at $218, into a shopping cart and concealing the items with her purse.
Two employees confronted the woman when she tried to leave through the store’s main entrance, police said. She then fled, leaving behind the cart, merchandise and her purse.
Inside the purse was a cellphone that reportedly contained a picture of the suspect, police said. They also found cosmetic products, a crack pipe and two other cellphones.
The report did not contain any descriptive information about the suspect.
