On July 24, U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., held a telephone town meeting with carefully screened questions.
I was shocked at how ill informed my representative was on current issues as he seemed to frequent old Tea Party talking points as he haphazardly replied to questions that were screened.
What Wilson hasn’t done is publicly answer for his budget vote that furloughed workers at SRS, hurt local residences and businesses. The hidden costs of stopping and restarting projects exceeded any savings by hampering employees. He has yet to explain why his allegiance is stronger with party extremists than the people he is supposed to represent.
Wilson is an embarrassment and a sham. Aiken would be foolish to re-elect someone who ignores their best interests.
