Al Miller of North, South Carolina, died in an early Saturday morning collision in Aiken County, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office report.
Miller, 34, was the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, and was traveling westbound on Interstate 20 near the 28-mile marker when he lost control of his vehicle, overturned and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the report.
The crash occurred approximately at 6 a.m. Miller, who was not wearing his seat belt, died from multiple body trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
The collision also involved a passenger, Columbia resident Tara Chase, 34, who was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Georgia Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Chase, the two were driving to South Carolina from Atlanta, Georgia, and excessive speed and possibly drugs and alcohol may be contributing factor's to the collision.
South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner's Office are investigating the crash. A toxicology report on the driver is still pending.
