An Aiken woman who was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend was arrested on warrants for another agency, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
The 37-year-old woman called police at about 11 a.m. Sunday after she and her boyfriend got into a dispute at their Shiloh Heights Road home, according to a sheriff’s report. The dispute resulted in the boyfriend choking the victim, punching her in the face and locking her in a bathroom, the report said.
The victim had visible injuries consistent with her story, police said. The suspect also reportedly threatened to kill her, police said.
While investigating, officers found out the victim had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Williston Police Department, the report stated. She was arrested and transported to the county line, where Williston police took custody.
Officers will present the case to a magistrate to obtain a criminal domestic violence warrant for the woman’s boyfriend.
