CHARLESTON (AP) — Citadel has hired Colorado administrator Jim Senter as its new athletic director.
The school said on its social media sites that Senter would be officially introduced on campus later this week.
Senter takes over for Larry Leckonby, the Citadel’s athletic director since 2008 who left in May to take a similar job at NCAA Division II Catawba.
The 52-year-old Senter had spent the past nine years connected to Colorado athletics, most recently as senior associate AD for external operations. In that role, Senter was sports administrator for several teams with the Buffaloes, including football.
As an associate AD for development with the CU Foundation, Senter’s role included all fundraising activities.
Senter was also athletic director at Idaho State in 2003-04 and then an administrator at San Diego State.
