According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 30-year-old Aiken man was detained for criminal domestic violence on Sunday after allegedly assaulting his wife after an argument over hanging blinds in their home.
Gunshots were reported in Eustis Park at about midnight Monday. Police investigated but found no evidence of shots fired.
An 86-year-old Aiken woman reported fraud on Friday after someone called her home posing as her grandson and saying he needed money to get bonded out of jail in California. The suspect reportedly told the victim to purchase $3,000 in prepaid money cards and call him back with the numbers to access the cards. The victim said she purchased the cards but became suspicious and did not call the suspect back.
A 21-year-old Hopkins man and a 19-year-old Greer man were detained for shoplifting on Friday after they tried to take $70 in merchandise from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.
A 20-year-old Jackson man was detained for shoplifting on Saturday after he tried to take $9 in hair products from a store on Whiskey Road without paying.
A 26-year-old Aiken woman was detained for shoplifting on Saturday after she tried to take several items from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.
An unknown man shoplifted $50 in meat products from a store on Richland Avenue on Sunday.
A burglary was reported on Lancaster Street on Saturday. The owner reported a television, jewelry, shoes and a hat missing.
An additional burglary was reported on Sumter Street on Saturday. The owner reported a video game console missing.
Vehicles were reported stolen from Middlebury East Lane and Kershaw Street.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
Burglaries were reported on Virginia Hill Court in Jackson, Maranatha Drive in Aiken and Langley Road in Warrenville.
Vehicle break-ins were reported in North Augusta on Lake Greenwood Drive, Lake Lanier Court, Lake Murray Drive and Dove Lake Drive, and in Graniteville on Fairway Drive, Fairmont Drive, Bastian Court and Ackerman Drive.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Old Nail Road in Beech Island on Sunday.
