The North Augusta Renegades 10U traveled to Spartanburg last week to participate in the USSA World Series. The four-day, end-of-the-year tournament featured some of the best teams competing in every age bracket. The Renegades finished fourth in the top bracket thanks to great pitching by Sam Godbee, Austin Harrell and Jake Roberson in addition to timely hitting and defense by Zack Toole, Chandler Partl, Jackson Beavers, Chase Tillman and Gault Goldman.

The Renegades appeared to be heading out of the tournament early on the last day when they were down to their final out in an elimination game. Eli Jarrard had a bases clearing triple with two outs to tie the ballgame and one pitch later he was knocked in by Connor Sinclair to send the North Augusta team to the final four. The Renegades were eliminated by eventual champions, the Lexington Lakers.

The 10U Renegades finish the 2014 season as winner of three USSA tournaments. They also captured the regular season South Carolina AA points race compiling a 17-2 record against AA teams and rose as high as No. 8 in the National AA power rankings. The North Augusta Renegades finished the year as a AAA team and looks forward to competing against the top teams in the southeast next year.
