A York man allegedly made a bomb threat against the Department of Social Services office in Aiken on Thursday, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
A DSS employee told officers that the suspect called the office on Park Avenue at about 11 a.m. Thursday and was upset because his Medicaid funds had been stopped, according to an incident report.
The caller also said he would be coming to the DSS office to “blow up the building, and that it was not a threat but a promise.”
The suspect reportedly left a voicemail for another employee, saying “the rednecks were going to come up there,” the report stated.
A third employee told officers she was contacted by the suspect, who cussed at her when she told him she couldn’t help him, police said.
No arrests have been made as of Friday afternoon.
