Fox Creek High School released a statement Monday related to a racist post allegedly made by one of the school’s students.

A screenshot of a photo showing a girl wearing blackface paint with a racial slur on it made its way around social media over the weekend.

The girl in the photo is allegedly a Fox Creek High School student. The photo, posted to the social media app Snapchat, has a caption that reads “happy birthday girly!!” and “now can I say (expletive).”

“The Fox Creek High School administrative team was notified Saturday afternoon that a student may have made a post on Snapchat with content that was clearly inappropriate,” the statement from the school reads.

“The post does not in any way reflect the values of Fox Creek High School or the school's commitment to diversity and the inclusion of all students. The administration at Fox Creek will continue to investigate the incident and act accordingly. Fox Creek High School is committed to providing an environment free of biases of any nature in order to promote the education of all students.”
