Evaluations are wrapping up this week for our 2020 fall sports of football, cheerleading, soccer and volleyball. Next process is for our program coordinators to conduct team drafts with our volunteer coaches and get our teams on the practice field. We currently have 851 participants registered and still have room in each sport if you have not been able to sign up yet. Registration is still being accepted at the front counter of the Riverview Park Activities Center. We are looking for additional 11- and 12-year-old football players to help fill out team rosters.

The Riverview Park Splash Pad and Summerfield Park Splash Pad are in the last few weeks of operation in the 2020 season. Closing date for both venues depends on the weather temperatures that we have towards the end of September and first of October. Both splash pads have been popular attractions throughout the summer.

Greeneway maintenance will continue this week as our PRT maintenance staff and the Property Maintenance Division staff are working hard to catch up on the overgrown vegetation on many parts of the trail. Please proceed with caution when using the Greeneway and approaching maintenance staff along the route. When necessary, we will temporarily close sections of the Greeneway while work is being completed with the tractor and boom axe.

Lions Field will be a busy venue this coming weekend as the facility will play host to high school football on Friday night and adult travel volleyball on Saturday and Sunday. Lions Field will be the home field for both the Augusta Eagles and Fox Creek High School football teams.

The Riverview Park Activities Center will host the annual Cattyshack Cat show this Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 the show will be closed to the public.

Stay tuned to our North Augusta PRT Facebook page: facebook.com/northaugusta.recreation for information on our programs and facilities.
