The Riverview Park Activities Center basement floor will be back in business this Thursday afternoon as the replacement flooring will be complete. All the old carpet has been removed. A brand new rubber flooring will be in the exercise room and the rest of the hallways and open areas will be polished concrete. Later this month we are scheduled to begin carpet replacement on the main floor.
The North Augusta Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is pleased to announce that the Summerfield Park Splash Pad will re-open on Friday, May 24 for the 2019 summer season. The splash pad will open daily at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. The Splash Pad season is scheduled to run from May 24 until September 22. Beginning in June there are no reservations taken for the two covered shelters in the park. All facilities at Summerfield Park during the summer season are first come, first serve.
Park facilities that are available for rental during the summer months include the Riverview Park Picnic Shelter located at 100 Riverview Park Drive that has a large charcoal grill, sink/countertop, electrical outlets, 10 large picnic tables with benches, restrooms, and use of a horseshoe pit. The Riverview Park Picnic Shelter can host a capacity of 80-100 people.
We also have the Hammond's Ferry Soccer Complex shelter located at 121 Hammond's Ferry Road that has 6 picnic tables with benches, charcoal grill, restrooms, and use of an outdoor sand volleyball court. The Hammond's Ferry Soccer Complex shelter can host a capacity of 40-50 people.
Another option is the Boeckh Park Pavilion that is a covered open air pavilion located along the riverfront extension of the Greeneway trail at 508 Front Street and near the Hammond's Ferry subdivisions. The pavilion has limited bench seating and an open fire pit.
A smaller and improved option is the Waterworks Park Sertoma Picnic Shelter located at 308 Riverside Boulevard. This covered shelter rental includes the reserved use of the shelter, picnic tables, and grill. The capacity for this facility is 25 people. The shelter has a new roof and is located next to Billie’s Butterfly Garden and North Augusta Bark Park.
