Great news for our community as the City of North Augusta Parks, Recreation and Tourism will begin to open up facilities this weekend. We are still working on a phased approach so it will not be everything at once. This Saturday, May 30, athletic fields, playgrounds, splash pads and outdoor restrooms will reopen. Monday, June 1, the Riverview Park Activities Center will open the track, cardio room, and weight room with new and limited hours. The gyms are not allowed to open at this time except for classes. The Activities Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The Activities Center will not open on Sundays during the month of June. This new schedule will allow our staff to clean and sanitize the building according to the SCRPA COVID-19 guidelines. Only Activities Center members 16 and over that are working out on the track, cardio room or weight room will be allowed in the facility until the gyms are able to reopen for basketball, volleyball, etc.

Recreation youth baseball, softball and soccer practice sessions for a summer season will begin this Saturday. New registrations are being accepted this week but parents are urged to contact our athletic staff ASAP if you would like to register your child. Recreation league games are scheduled to begin on June 15 and conclude by the end of July. For more information on our summer athletic leagues please call the athletic office at 803-441-4306.

Adventure Camp 2020 registrations are now being accepted online and at the front counter of the Activities Center during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adventure Camp is for rising first graders to sixth graders. Adventure Camp sessions will be offered for nine consecutive weeks with Week 1 starting on Monday, June 8. The registration fee is $100 per week with the daily sessions running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Augusta Community Center. All campers will be dropped off under the portico of the community center and will have health screenings prior to entering the building. Only campers and staff will be allowed in the community center during the camp sessions. For more information on Adventure Camp please call Mandy Nelson at 803-441-4310 or J.R. Williams at 803-441-4302.
