Aiken Regional Medical Centers will host a Senior Wellness Brunch this Thursday, Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Riverview Park Activities Center Craft Room. Jackie Enlund, MPH, RD, and LD from the Diabetes and Nutrition Teaching Center at Aiken Regional Medical Centers will be speaking on healthy habits for the holidays. The brunch is free to all area senior citizens aged 55 and over. If you are not already a member of the Riverview Park Activities Center, we encourage our senior citizens to take a tour of the building after attending the brunch.

Congratulations to the City of North Augusta Volunteer of the Year, Danny Shreves, and our City of North Augusta Employee of the Year, Jason Shealy, utility technician with the Department of Public Services. We are so appreciative of their service to the City of North Augusta.

It may be nearing the end of the 2019 calendar year, but we are still busy making improvements to the Riverview Park Activities Center. Impact Sport Surfaces completed the refinishing work on all six gym floors last week. Check out the shine on all the floors as you walk the track. We are continuing our lighting upgrades to LED on the second floor of the building. You should also see some additional flooring upgrades to the locker rooms and stairs over the next few weeks. Maintaining the quality facilities we have in the City of North Augusta is of upmost importance to our mission in the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.

The Riverview Park Activities Center will be closed for the Christmas holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25. We will reopen Thursday morning, Dec. 26.

Merry Christmas to our community from the entire staff of the North Augusta Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department! It is our pleasure to serve each of you throughout the year and we wish you the best.
