Summerfield Park Splash Pad will open this Friday at 10 a.m. The splash pad is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until the middle of September. All picnic shelters and playground areas in Summerfield Park are first come, first served beginning in June until the splash pad closes in September.

Summer camp season is almost here, so please visit the city of North Augusta website at northaugusta.net for a complete listing of our summer camps offered for 2019. First camp week of the summer this year actually takes place the last week of school as North Augusta High School and your Parks, Recreation, and Tourism staff have joined forces to create Camp Yellow Jacket. Camp Yellow Jacket is for kids ages 5-12 and will take place June 3-6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parents have choices between arts, athletics, band, business, chorus, culinary and robotics. Camp directors are all teachers at North Augusta High School. There will be camp refreshments each night and Yellow Jacket Camp will conclude on Thursday, June 6 with movie night on the North Augusta High School Football field. Camp registration fee is $40 with all registration taking place at the Riverview Park Activities Center or online.

There are no travel tournaments scheduled for Riverview Park this weekend so the fields are wide open for community play and the indoor courts are available for our members and their guests.

Lastly for this week’s column, the North Augusta Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department’s annual Splash Day is scheduled for Friday, June 7 at Riverview Park from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come enjoy a great way to celebrate the beginning of summer, but be sure to wear your bathing suit as North Augusta Public Safety will be providing the water from the ladder truck to cool you off. The Adventure Camp staff will be there with the giant slip-n-slide and there will be free hot dogs, chips and drinks for everyone.
