This weekend Riverview Park will host the South Carolina USA Girls’ Fast-Pitch Recreation District Tournament all day Saturday on Fields A, B, C and Lady Jacket field. Recreation league All-Star teams from Aiken, Belvedere, Fountain Inn, Gilbert, North Augusta, and Simpsonville will be represented in 8U, 10U, 12U, and 18U divisions. The double elimination event gets underway at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to end around 9:30 p.m.

The Riverview Park Activities Center will host the PQ Sports travel basketball tournament Friday evening through Sunday on the hardwood courts. Admission is charged for all of these events. Riverview Park Activities Center members can still access the indoor walking track, cardio room, and fitness area with their membership cards.

Summer camp season kicks off next week with Camp Yellow Jacket so please visit the City of North Augusta website at northaugusta.net for a complete listing of our summer camps offered for 2019. Camp Yellow Jacket is for ages 5-12 and goes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday at North Augusta High School and Riverview Park. Camp Yellow Jacket offers parents a large variety of options to choose from. Parents may sign their children up for Camp Yellow Jacket online or at the Riverview Park Activities Center. Registration will be accepted on the first day of camp.

Week No. 2 of summer 2019, June 10 to 14, features Cross Training for boys and girls ages 6-12. Cross Training camp offers basketball, soccer, and cheerleading. Adventure Camp also gets underway the week of June 10-14 and will have 5 sessions this summer, June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28, July 22-26, and July 29-August 2. Please don’t forget the Summerfield Splash Pad is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until September. Splash Day 2019 at Riverview Park is Friday, June 7, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Summertime is here!
