North Augusta City Council will meet online for a virtual meeting on Monday, Aug. 3.

North Augusta City Council will meet virtually on Monday to vote on an agreement with the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.

Council will vote on an agreement with the department to provide “secure detention services for juveniles (persons under the age of seventeen) who are charged with committing crimes within the city of North Augusta,” according to the agenda.

The only other thing on the agenda is the receipt of information from the Planning Commission related to home occupations.

During the study session before the meeting, Council will discuss the preliminary 2021 annual municipal budget.

City Council will meet via GoToMeeting, and the meeting will be streamed to the city’s Facebook and YouTube pages. The study session will take place at 6 p.m. and the regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to submit comments should email them to City Clerk Sharon Lamar at slamar@northaugusta.net. Comments received by noon on the day of the meeting will be read aloud into the record by the clerk and will be included in the meeting minutes.
