North Augusta's oldest restaurant, Sno-Cap Drive-In, is undergoing a change of ownership this month. Kenny and Rachel Franklin have owned and operated the West Avenue restaurant for most of the years since 1996, and are handing over the reins to Havird Usry, whose family owns and runs one of Augusta's most popular eateries: Fat Man's Cafe and Catering, now based in Enterprise Mill. Usry said he plans to maintain and enhance Sno-Cap's nostalgic spirit and restore its original function as a drive-in, where customers have the option of placing an order from their car and having their item(s) delivered in carhop style. Sno-Cap dates back to 1964.
