The primary users of SRP Park — the Augusta GreenJackets — are out of action this year, but the facilities are still getting some baseball use. South Carolina American League Baseball, featuring a variety of squads representing North Augusta and such communities as Bamberg, West Columbia, Chapin, Newberry, Greenwood, Lexington and (until recently, due to a health problem) Edgefield, is in gear, allowing teen players a chance to keep their skills sharp and also to play on a first-class field. The season began June 29 and is to run through July 30. These scenes are from July 14 at SRP Park and July 16 in Riverview Park.
