The Sons of Confederate Veterans Berry Benson Camp in North Augusta will be having its monthly meeting Aug. 15 at the Acacia Masonic Lodge off Brookside Drive at 7 p.m. Author Tom Poland will be the speaker.

The Belvedere Fire District Commissioners will hold a regularly scheduled meeting Aug.15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Belvedere Fire Department located at 204 Hampton Avenue. The meeting is open to the public.

Grace United Methodist Church in North Augusta will be holding an Adult Vacation Bible School program titled "Bounce into Autumn" Sept. 9 and 10. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Wesley Center, there will be light refreshments, a photo booth and gathering time. Program time, featuring a guest speaker for each day, will begin at 10 a.m. and will end by 12 p.m. with lunch to follow. George and Martha Washington will be hosts of a high tea party at Horns Creek Church museum, located at 475 Old Stage Road in Edgefield, on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. The event is $30 and attendees can RSVP at 803-637-2233. Dress as a person of that era or wear your Sunday best. There will be an elaborate five-course repast with delicious, original Mt. Vernon tea and much more.

The Aiken County Republican Party meets the second Thursday of each month at the Aiken County Historical Museum-Banksia, 433 Newberry Street, SW in Aiken. A social begins at 6:30 p.m. while the Party Executive Committee conducts a business meeting separately. At 7 p.m. the Monthly Party meeting is held including formal speakers. Parents of Addicted Loved Ones will meet Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 1002 Carolina Avenue, in North Augusta.
