The North Augusta Artists Guild's 2020 Annual Show & Sale will begin Thursday, July 30, at the Arts & Heritage Center of North Augusta. The opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. (Face masks will be available.) Awards will be presented at 6 p.m. The show is open to the public through Sept. 17, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 70 works of art will be exhibited. Participating artists are: Leron Adams, Noriko Akamatsu, Carolyn Baggott, Elizabeth Barnes, Ron Bonar, Angelika Bondar, Kathleen Boyd, Ronda Bryce, Ron Buttler (posthumously), Jason Chambers, Martha Corkrin, Joanne Crouch, Doug Dooley, Carissa Doying, Henry Drakeford, Andy Hunter, Beth H. Jones, Pat Kerko, Charlie Kilfoil, Kay Lovingood, Avis Lyle, Mary McCullah, Helen McKenney, Victoria Milheim, D.S. Owens, Julia Poole, Terry Shotton, Andrea Spano, Rosanne Stutts, Glenda Tahan, Rodney Thomas, Carol Tomory, Sally Van Peursem, Marian Wade, Heather Wagner and Kaye Ward. 

There will be a meeting of the Aiken County Board of Disabilities and the board of Tri-Development Center on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 p.m., 5080 Jefferson Davis Highway, Beech Island. 

The Merriwether Fire Department is hosting the first annual Fill-the-Boot for MDA golf tournament Thursday, Sept. 3, at Mount Vintage Golf Club, North Augusta. Shotgun start at 1 p.m. This will replace the traditional Labor Day road stop with fire fighters holding out the boot for donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Registration is open now for golf teams to participate. The event is presented by Brighter Side Roofing, Cornerstone Concrete, and Hoffmann Residential Services.
