The North Augusta Artists Guild's Summer Exhibit at the Convent of St. Helena opens Thursday, June 13, 6-8 p.m. The Convent is located at 414 Savannah Barony Drive, North Augusta. Nineteen artists are exhibiting: Randy Barfield, Elizabeth Barnes, Ron Bonar, Angelika Bondar, Kathleen Boyd, Ronda Bryce, Vera DeVito, Doug Dooley, Carissa Doying, Mike Drake, Beth Jones, Yvonne Kinney, Donna Lane, Kay Lovingood, Mary McCullah, Rosanne Stutts, Carol Tomory, Sally Van Peursem and Jerry Walker. Photography, 2D and 3D works are on exhibit and for sale. The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Belvedere Fire District Commissioners will hold a regularly scheduled meeting June 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Belvedere Fire Department located at 204 Hampton Avenue. The meeting is open to the public.

The North Augusta Berry Benson Chapter Sons of Confederate Veterans will be having their monthly meeting Thursday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Acacia Masonic Lodge off Brookside Drive in North Augusta beside the Community Center. One of the members, Dan Reece, will be giving information on the Hamburg Incident that occurred July 1876.

The Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta will celebrate its 10-year anniversary on Thursday, June 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. In the upstairs gallery will be artwork by North Augusta native Garland Gooden. In the downstairs gallery will be Open Session, featuring juried artists of the center.

The Edgefield Preservation Association will host "A Tour of Buncombe Street" on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour will extend a mile from the Village Blacksmith Shop to Pottersville. Advance tickets are $20 per adult and children under 12 are free. Tickets at the door are $25. The tour is a walking/driving tour, but transportation will be available between the sites. A lunch fundraiser will be held at the Tompkins Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 per person or $15 at the door. APS Staffing Solutions will be hosting two career fairs to assist new graduates and other community residents with finding employment on June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon and June 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at their location next to Honda Cars of Aiken. There will be on-site interviews for Machine Operators, Welders and General Laborers. There will also be a series of educational seminars available to participants such as: a resume workshop, benefits workshop, social media, soft skills, home ownership, mock interviews and financial planning. There will also be giveaways.

A Share the Color with Subway activity will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at the Nancy Carson Library, 135 Edgefield Ave., North Augusta. The Aiken County Republican Party meets the second Thursday of each month at the Aiken County Historical Museum-Banksia, 433 Newberry Street, SW in Aiken. A social begins at 6:30 p.m. while the Party Executive Committee conducts a business meeting separately. At 7:00 p.m. the Monthly Party meeting is held including formal speakers.  All members and prospective members are invited.
