In the gift shop I noticed coasters that contained a picture of a cup of coffee with the words, “but first coffee.” As I purchased them, I recalled the recent storm that had caused significant damage and disrupted power. On the morning after the tempest, I awoke early and walked outside in the darkness. Hearing a generator and spotting my neighbor Dave, I stopped and he greeted me with a steaming mug of coffee. I’d like to find coasters with the words, “but first thoughtfulness.” “Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” (Phillipians 2:4).
