In the Preamble to our Constitution, our nation’s founders wrote of securing the “blessings of liberty.” Their brilliance and courage provided a priceless gift to Americans. The freedom to carry out our lives as we choose, including work, worship, location and goals, stands as a monumental blessing. These, however, cannot satisfy our deepest need for freedom. Only our creator can fill our hearts with love and forgiveness and give us full blessings of liberty. “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13).
