I have always loved hymns and find it difficult to choose one as my favorite. On a recent Sunday, however, as we sang, “Pass It On,” I felt a strong spiritual connection to this song written by Kurt Kaiser in 1969. In that year, I served as a youth minister at a church in Greenville, and we often enthusiastically sang this brand new song: “That’s how it is with God’s love once you’ve experienced it; you spread his love to everyone; you want to pass it on.” Such love must be shared. ”We love because he first loved us” (I John 4:19).
