Letters to the Editor

To the citizens of North Augusta and the CSRA,

I would like to take this opportunity to bring you up to date regarding the Acacia Lodge spring barbecue. As you know, this event is held each April and is one of the two largest fundraisers for the lodge. Unfortunately this year, events have forced us to make a change. The coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic – and the critical dangers it presents – have resulted in the lodge leadership's decision to cancel the spring barbecue.

Originally, we thought of doing take-out only. However, necessary social distancing and the large number of patrons in a relatively small area made that option unfeasible. The health, safety and enjoyment of our patrons have always been our top priorities.

Your support, faithfulness and friendship over the years is appreciated more than you can ever imagine, and we are not going to do anything to jeopardize that trust.

As of now, we are still planning to have our fall barbecue in September. Look for announcements beginning in August.

Again, we hope you will understand why this decision was made. In the meantime, take care of yourselves and each other. God bless you all through these trying days, and always.
